The Echo Valley & Alminingen

The Echo Valley is situated in the heart of the island and is a part of Almindingen, Denmarks third largest forrest. It is a very practical and relatively easy photo location as it offers a nice little route which offers grazing cows, huge old trees, cliffs and rocks and of course the valley itself.

I had the pleasure of documenting a rather exotic connection between Czech Milena and Spanish Miguel the other day on Bornholm. Along with them they brought their adorable 2 year old daughter Anna! They came alone so Anna was a part of the deal and needed to be considered when shooting the wedding pictures as she was with us all along. Shooting with toddlers can be a little challenging sometimes as their attention span and patience are mostly rather limited, so these factors needed to be taken into consideration when planning both time and location for the shoot.

As the ceremony itself took place in the town hall of Rønne I decided to take a few quick shots in the park just outside and the at the Antoinette beach near by. I planned maximum an hour for the location pictures which proved to be a fair amount of time as that was pretty much the time span to keep a little girl interested and entertained. And as always when toddlers are involved you kind of have to just go with their flow, include them in the process, create a playful atmosphere and have the necessary patience to wait for the right moments. Also make sure not to forget the couple who are not only proud parents but also a couple of lovers on their happiest day…
